Purpose

To create communities where young people and families receive support, advocacy and stability.

Description

The young women served in a residential treatment have very special needs. Some are pregnant; some are not. Most of these women have alcohol and drug treatment issues, have been expelled from public schools, and have severe emotional behaviors that require intensive supervision and treatment. The on-campus school, New Pathways Academy, provides a secure learning environment that meets their academic, social and behavioral needs.

The Home-Based Counseling Service helps boys and girls who are in extreme crisis remain at home while receiving services.  It is offered to needy families in Knox and 15 surrounding counties.

The family foster program helps teen moms and their babies as well as other teens really find solace in being with loving and strong foster families.  More foster parents are needed because the number of children who can best be served in this way is growing.

Ways You Can Help

  • There are always needs for families to become “foster parents” to these young girls.
  • Need for groups to come and do landscaping and/or painting around facility.
