2017 marks the 500th anniversary of the Protestant Reformation, a spiritual awakening from God that swept across Europe and flooded the continent with the spiritual light of the gospel of grace after centuries of religious darkness. This summer, our pastors highlighted key gospel truths that were the basis of the Reformation in a Sunday morning series, A Summer Reformation. This series can be found here.
During The Fab 5 of the Reformation series, we delved more deeply into the lessons covered in the Sunday morning series and discussed the people God used throughout the Reformation. Who were some of the heroes God used to change the spiritual condition of Europe and eventually the entire world? What were their stories? What were their strengths, their weaknesses, their battles, their lasting contributions? What did John Wycliffe, John Hus, Martin Luther, John Calvin and William Tyndale contribute to this great work of God, and why is it important for us to know about them today? These questions and more were discussed during the series.
